Untitled Landscape, George Morrison, 1953, oil on canvas Collection of the Minnesota Museum of American Art
This exhibition from the MMAA’s collection features over 60 works of art highlighting Morrison’s East Coast years when he explored Abstract Expressionism and the sounds of jazz music, to the development of his signature North Shore horizon style. The majority of these pieces—many from his sketchbooks—have never before been on view in the Twin Cities.
