 Abstract Painting in Minnesota: Selected Works 1930 to the Present features 23 artists who have lived and worked in Minnesota. The exhibition confirms the state’s reputation as a place that fosters a progressive attitude toward art making and boasts a well-documented history of abstract painting. The 31 paintings in the exhibition demonstrate a wide range of abstract styles.

Abstract Painting in Minnesota: Selected Works 1930 to the Present is a visual tribute to the vitality and accomplishments of a community of painters who have contributed to a rich painting tradition in Minnesota for over 70 years.

This exhibition was organized by the Rochester Art Center and curated by Thomas Barry.
